GARRISON, New York (June 17, 2009) -- Anyone searching for an intimate wedding venue in a gracious Hudson Valley setting need look no further than the historic Bird & Bottle Inn in Garrison. From seasonal gourmet menus, to the warm and inviting inn that has been lovingly restored, The Bird & Bottle helps make every wedding a truly romantic and memorable occasion.

Whether the bride and groom choose to exchange vows under the welcoming branches of a 100-year-old maple tree that stands at the edge of Indian Brook, or in the colorful gardens that grace the property, The Bird & Bottle’s staff helps them make the occasion uniquely their own.

Some couples choose to be married in the gazebo, with cocktails on the terrace. The reception is very often held under the tent, with 21-foot ceilings and cathedral-style windows, where up to 150 guests can enjoy dinner and dancing. Smaller weddings and rehearsal dinners can be held in various private dining rooms, each with its own special charms, where 10-60 people can enjoy the cozy ambience of times gone by.

To help the bride and groom with every detail of their special day, wedding coordination services are provided at no extra charge. Innkeeper Elaine Margolies works closely with couples to help them plan the wedding of their dreams, making every effort to meet their special requests before and during the event.

Wedding catering at The Bird & Bottle is prepared under the direction of the enthusiastic executive chef, Douglas Gardner. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Gardner is a fresh and creative culinary talent, and every dish he prepares uses the highest quality ingredients, including many that are grown and produced in the Hudson Valley region.

For wedding guests who may wish to stay overnight at the inn, lodging is available in three recently restored romantic rooms featuring traditional cast-iron or four-poster beds, Colonial furnishings and working fireplaces. A separate cottage, similarly furnished and decorated, offers additional privacy and charm.

Originally open as Warren’s Tavern in 1761, the inn was a stagecoach stop on the Old Albany Post Road (now Route 9) that welcomed travelers on the rather arduous, two-day journey between New York City and Albany. In 1832 a farm, gristmill and sawmill were developed on the property, and in 1940 the main building re-opened as The Bird & Bottle Inn, quickly establishing a reputation for fine cuisine and comfortable lodgings.

The Bird & Bottle Inn is located on Route 9 in Garrison, just 10 miles north of the Bear Mountain Bridge, 30 miles north of White Plains and 50 miles north of midtown Manhattan. Tucked away in the scenic Hudson Highlands, The Bird & Bottle is the right choice for couples who want to create lasting memories of an intimate wedding that will suit their style perfectly.
